Amnesty's Human Rights Fronts .....options open to you with membership in Amnesty International
- Local Groups (such as Group 361, AIA) ~ the building blocks of Amnesty's grassroots success. These groups have saved lives. Membership in Group 361 only requires participation in the group's efforts, not dues. You may do your part from your home.
- Student Groups ~ in high schools and colleges. Taking part in major Amnesty campaigns, these groups often hold Activism Days, host Amnesty concerts, and are eligible for human rights internships. Some student groups have been responsible for policy changes at their schools -- from purchasing decisions to foreign investments.
- Freedom Writers Network ~ allows you to receive an action bulletin each month containing the cases of three people whose rights have been violated and who need your help. (These letters are usually included in the monthly packets of the Local Group 361 -- members.)
- AIKids ~ this program encourages kids to write letters to government leaders using the monthly Children's Edition Urgent Action either at home or in the classrooms. Naturally, the cases are carefully chosen and are appropriate for children above the age of 9. The cases involve boys and girls under the age of 18 whose human rights have been denied.
- Urgent Action Network ~ The majority of the letters in Group 361's packets have been written on an Urgent Action case -- which could involve torture, illegal detention, pending executions or health emergencies requiring immediate action. The UAN works fast and means business -- and gives its members the overwhelming satisfaction of improving conditions almost immediately for some terrified individual who thought he or she was all alone in the world.

- Professional Networks ~
- Human Rights Educators Network ~ promote the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and its inherent affirmation of human dignity. This work is accomplished by outreach to educators, training and leadership development, etc. TEACHERS! Check the Amnesty webpage designed for you.
- Legal Support Network ~ the Protection of human rights can be only as effective as the laws that uphold them. This places the lawyers and judges who defend the law at the frontline of every human rights struggle. You can support colleagues around the world whose efforts to defend human rights are met with intimidation, imprisonment, torture, and even death. You may also have the opportunity to act as legal advisor, activist or human rights educator within your professional community.
- Children's Human Rights Network ~ receive information about specific cases and actions you can take to ensure that governments respect children's human rights. If you choose this area of action, you may also choose to report to Local Group 361 as a coordinator.
